f you’re anything like me, you care deeply about your child’s learning journey—not just the test scores or daily assignments, but the way they feel about themselves as learners. You want to see that spark of confidence when they figure something out. You want learning to feel joyful, not stressful. And sometimes… you just need a little backup. That’s where tutoring comes in—and why I’m so passionate about offering it.

As a homeschooling mom and educator, I’ve worked with children in a variety of learning environments. I’ve seen the power of one-on-one instruction to unlock understanding, build trust, and restore confidence in kids who may have once felt “behind” or just overlooked in group settings. Whether you’re homeschooling full-time or supporting your child after school, tutoring can be one of the most impactful gifts you give them.

Why Tutoring Works

Let’s be real: not all children thrive in a one-size-fits-all setting. Even within our own homeschools, we may notice one child flying through math while another struggles just to remember yesterday’s lesson. It’s not a matter of intelligence—it’s about learning style, pace, and connection.

Tutoring gives a child permission to slow down (or speed up!), ask questions without fear, and receive undivided attention. Sometimes, that’s all they need. Other times, they need consistency and step-by-step support over time. Either way, tutoring creates a safe and focused space for growth—and I’ve seen it make a huge difference.

Here are a few benefits I’ve noticed over the years:

  • Personalized learning – I tailor each session based on your child’s needs, goals, and learning preferences.
  • Increased confidence – As understanding grows, so does your child’s self-esteem and willingness to try.
  • Skill-building – Tutoring reinforces core subjects but also teaches study habits, time management, and focus.
  • Reduced stress for parents – Let’s face it, sometimes outsourcing a subject (or two) is the best way to preserve peace in your home!

Tutoring isn’t about “fixing” your child. It’s about equipping them. Empowering them. Helping them believe that they are capable and supported.

My Approach: Gentle, Encouraging, Purposeful

Every tutor is different, so let me share a little about how I work.

First, I start with relationship. I want your child to feel comfortable and seen. I’m not just there to drill math facts—I’m there to connect and build trust. I bring a whole-child approach to every session, which means I consider not just where your child is academically, but how they’re feeling emotionally and mentally.

Second, I customize each session. I assess where your child is, what their struggles are, and how they best absorb information. Then I create a plan that fits their needs—not a generic curriculum.

And third, I include encouragement, every step of the way. I genuinely believe every child has God-given potential, and I treat them as such. Even when we’re working through hard things, I create an atmosphere of grace, patience, and support.

My ultimate goal? That your child walks away from our sessions not only stronger in their subject but also stronger in their belief that they can learn anything with time and support.

Who I Work With

Right now, I’m tutoring students from elementary through middle school. Whether you need help in reading, writing, math, or general study skills, I’ve got you covered. Some families work with me weekly for ongoing support; others check in as needed. Both are perfectly fine!

Here are just a few of the areas I specialize in:

  • Reading comprehension & fluency
  • Writing skills & grammar support
  • Elementary math and foundational concepts
  • Pre-algebra & homework help
  • Study habits and test prep

If you’re homeschooling, I can align my tutoring with your current curriculum. If your child attends traditional school, I’ll work with their current assignments and goals.

My Heart Behind This Work

Tutoring isn’t just a side hustle for me—it’s part of my ministry. I genuinely love coming alongside families to help their children thrive. Watching a child go from discouraged to empowered is one of the most rewarding experiences, and I never take that for granted.

I know what it’s like to feel unsure if you’re doing enough as a parent. I’ve been there. And I also know how it feels to finally have someone come alongside you and say, “You’re not in this alone.” That’s what I aim to be for the families I work with—a trusted, caring partner in your child’s educational journey.
