If you’re homeschooling, you already know that your days are full—sometimes beautifully full, sometimes frustratingly full. So when the idea of adding tutoring into the mix comes up, I totally understand the hesitation. Is this going to be too much? How do I fit one more thing in?

Good news: it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. In fact, tutoring can actually make your homeschool rhythm simpler and more peaceful.

Here’s how I help families blend tutoring into their weekly routines in ways that bring relief—not stress.

First, Let’s Shift the Mindset

Sometimes we view tutoring as “extra.” But in many cases, tutoring is a support system—not a burden. It’s one of the most effective ways to lighten your load as a homeschool parent.

Think of it this way: if you’re spending 4 hours a week trying to reteach math, and your child is still frustrated, one hour of focused tutoring could not only solve the problem—it could free you up for other priorities.

Tutoring isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing the right things with the right support.

3 Ways to Integrate Tutoring Smoothly

1. Pick your pain point.

You don’t have to outsource everything—just the area that’s causing the most tension. If writing assignments always end in tears, that might be your cue to bring in outside help. Letting go of just one subject can bring incredible peace to your day.

2. Find the natural margin in your week.

Tutoring doesn’t have to happen every day—or even at the same time every week. Together, we can find a rhythm that fits your schedule. I work with families in the mornings, afternoons, and even evenings, depending on your needs. It’s flexible and designed with your family life in mind.

3. Make tutoring part of your weekly plan.

Just like co-op or nature study, tutoring can become a regular touchpoint that actually brings structure to your week. And because it’s led by someone else (me!), you don’t have to prep or plan for it. You get to breathe.

How I Can Help

In our tutoring sessions, I bring intentional, personalized instruction to support your child in the subjects they need most. Whether it’s:

  • Reading comprehension
  • Elementary math or pre-algebra
  • Grammar and writing
  • Study skills and focus

I work to make sure your child feels empowered—not overwhelmed.

And I always consider the whole child—their emotional state, learning style, and confidence level. My approach is gentle, clear, and encouraging—because I believe kids thrive when they feel safe and supported.

Let’s Work Together

If you’re looking for a way to bring more peace, consistency, and progress into your homeschool routine, tutoring might be the missing piece.

Remember, your homeschool doesn’t have to be perfect—it just needs to be purposeful. And sometimes, the best way to support your child… is to invite a little help.
